Relic means remains. There are three classifications of relics: first class, which comes directly from the body of the saint; second class, which the saint used during his or her lifetime or where the saint’s body was interred, burial clothes; and third class which are objects touched to a first or second class relic. The sacredness of relics, however, does not have stages or classifications. Relics are sacred, whatever its classification may be (Dr. Dave Dela Cruz, O.P., More Precious Than Gold).
The Reliquary is an apostolate of the Oratorio de Santa Marta de Pateros for the Diocesan Shrine of Saint Martha and San Roque Parish Church as well as other Parish Churches in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Pasig. It aims to enrich the devotion to the Saints and their Relics and encourage the faithful to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation and participate in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. It also attracts pilgrims where the relics are exposed for public veneration.
The Relics of the Reliquary are authentic and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity issued by the source for public veneration.
